MOVED! Improv Resources now at ImprovUpdate.com instead
Articles will still be sent to newsletter too. Subscribe here or on ImprovUpdate.com to get free improv stuff! If you follow here and don't subscribe, you won't get new content as I've left Substack.
New articles are only being added to the ImprovUpdate.com website at this time (not Substack).
To get improv and comedy resources, you can either:
Get the latest articles free to your inbox (subscribe here, you’ll be added to the new newsletter location). Note that these will come from my ImprovUpdate.com site, but will be exactly the same content about neuroinclusion in improv and comedy.
Subscribe to my podcast or YouTube, which I will resume adding shows to.
Grab downloadable PDF Resource Guides of expanded & improved articles, downloadable at ImprovUpdate.com/downloads.
Why?
I decided to move my resources to Canadian servers. I am disappointed that Substack is not just helping extreme right-wing ideologies proliferate on this platform, bad enough… but they are also partnering with them (for right-wing publication’s financial advantage), and also promoting them officially here under their own business/platform entity.
So if I ran a paid newsletter I would be supporting that ideology with money. I would be funding that partnership. That is not okay. You can read more about the details here.
This is not okay especially as an autistic person, being part of the marginalized communities hurt most by right-wing extremism. We are one of their targets.
What Substack is supporting with their money, coming from paid publications, is harming my own demographic.
It is also not okay as those same publications Substack themselves PROMOTE and PARTNER WITH believe in attacking my sovereign nation of Canada.
So this autistic Canadian, two things harmed by facists like those running Substack, moved my content onto my own site, a platform I control that is hosted in Canada, moved the podcast to a non-American host, and I encourage anyone else who is affected by this to do the same.
And I want people to know why I made this change, which is why this page is still here. Because not enough people, in my opinion, are rejecting funding fascism as evidenced by so many “progressive” people giving the fascists money and support by supporting this site and its owners. So this gives me a tiny bit of a voice in this significantly huge matter.
Yeah, I know I’m not cool right now saying this. But I believe I have to speak up. For those of us affected so much by this hatred in the world right now.
I hope you will consider not giving Substack any money as a result, and if you have a newsletter, consider moving it. If you need help, I will help you for free.
More resources and improv stuff to check out!
There are more improv things you can check out, also elsewhere and hosted in Canada:

Here’s a cat and my cool tie-die shoes:
See you on a newsletter, elsewhere. But not on Substack. NO to PARTNERING WITH FASCISM.
In my inherent uncoolness,
Jen.

Thanks for sharing this Jen, it’s really interesting. I love the phrase faithful communication! Katy x
